AlgaEnergy Australia & New Zealand, a subsidiary of AlgaEnergy S.A. which is a global leader in innovative and natural biological-based solutions, is proud to announce the commercial launch of its unique phytoplankton-based crop biostimulant products. AlgaEnergy, the world’s leading phytoplankton biotechnology company, has increased its global presence by establishing a presence in Australia and New Zealand to bring its AmpliPhyt brand to growers throughout the region.

AmpliPhyt products are based on extracts of single-cell phytoplankton or microalgae that contain all of the natural substances that plants produce to grow and thrive. Through a number of deep scientific collaborations with universities and research institutions around the world, including research with Agriculture Victoria Research (AVR) at La Trobe University near Melbourne,  AlgaEnergy has demonstrated that its phytoplankton based products improve crop productivity by enhancing both the levels of critical nutrients such as carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus in the soil, in part by stimulating the soil microbiome, while at the same time rapidly and sustainably activating the genes responsible for key nutrient metabolism within the crop plant itself.  This coordinated increase in soil nutrients with the activation of plant nutrient metabolism is unique to our phytoplankton products and results in healthier crops which are more resilient to stresses faced during plant growth and thus leads to better quality and yields and the efficient use of applied nutrients.

AlgaEnergy’s microalgae production facility near Cadiz, Spain.  The production of phytoplankton products is conducted in controlled environment conditions and uses CO2 captured prior to release to the atmosphere making this a highly sustainable production system with the highest quality and consistency products on the market.

Darren stated, “I am extremely excited to be involved with AlgaEnergy and the AmpliPhyt branded products. Taking unique products to growers through distribution partners, backed by solid R&D, is extremely important to me. I am especially proud to be able to share with the growers and advisers our recent third-party trial data which demonstrates the mode of action at a cellular and genetic level, something that differentiate us in the marketplace. AmpliPhyt™ is totally unique in the Australian biostimulant market and can offer serious value to growers looking to improve nutrient uptake efficiency.”

“Australia represents a key agricultural market that has created clear sustainability goals for the future. Such high standards of production make AlgaEnergy’s product portfolio an ideal addition to the growers’ toolbox of solution-oriented products. We are talking with potential distribution partners who can work closely with us to develop our products and deliver measurable benefits to their grower customers,” Darren added.

Darren said, AlgaEnergy is dedicated to bringing the most innovative products to growers around the world. We are currently commercial in Europe, North and South America and Asia, with over 5 million farmers using our products around the world.  More farmers are integrating biological solutions to achieve better yields and healthier crops, and to help regenerate soils. AlgaEnergy’s expansion in Australia will give local growers access to our cutting-edge, natural and disruptive technologies to promote crop and soil health, and we look forward to our continued expansion of activities throughout the region.”
